It won’t lather like your old shampoo. That’s the point.
Honey Pro-Keratin Growth Shampoo 200ml Hair
Hair Honey is SLS-free, which means it cleans without the harsh detergents that strip colour, dry out the scalp and undo your treatments. It also means less foam — and foam was never what was doing the cleaning. Read this page before your first wash and you’ll get it right from the start.
How To Use
Two washes, not one. Once you know why, you’ll never go back.
Your Weekly Hair Ritual
HOW OFTEN
Two to three washes a week suits most people. Fine or oily hair can go every other day; thick, curly or coily hair is usually happier once or twice a week. Washing less often than you think is almost always the right answer — over washing strips the scalp, and a stripped scalp produces more oil to compensate, which makes you wash again.
THE FIRST FEW WEEKS
Be patient through the switch.
If you’re coming off a silicone-heavy or sulphate-based shampoo, your hair has a coating on it that took months to build and won’t come off in one wash. Here’s the honest timeline:
- Washes 1–3 : hair may feel different. Heavier, waxier or oddly coated. This is old silicone lifting, not the shampoo failing.
- Weeks 2–4 — the coating clears. Hair starts to feel like hair again: lighter at the root, more responsive, better texture.
- Weeks 4–8 — the scalp rebalances. Roots stay clean for longer and you can start stretching the gaps between washes.
- Weeks 8+ — less breakage in the brush, better colour retention, and hair that holds moisture between washes rather than drying out by day two.
If the transition feels slow, one clarifying wash before
you start will clear the build-up in one go and let you skip most of it.
Is this the right shampoo for me?
WHO IS IT FOR?
Hair Honey is built for:
- Dry, damaged or over-processed hair that needs cleaning without stripping
- Coloured or bleached hair — sulphates are one of the main reasons colour fades early
- Sensitive, itchy, flaky or reactive scalps
- Anyone using our oils, who needs a wash that removes them without undoing the treatment
- Keratin-treated or chemically straightened hair, where sulphate-free washing is essential
- Curly and coily textures that lose definition to harsh detergents
Suits every hair type. Contains sweet almond oil, so please avoid if you have a nut allergy. Patch test on the inner elbow 24 hours before first use if your scalp is sensitive or reactive.
What To Expect
KEY BENEFITS
- Cleans without stripping: SLS is effective precisely because it’s aggressive — it takes your scalp’s protective oils along with the dirt. Gentler surfactants clean just as thoroughly and leave the scalp barrier where it should be.
- Keratin where it counts: Hair is largely keratin, and damage is what depletes it. Pro-keratin helps reinforce the hair structure with every wash rather than only at the conditioning stage.
- Moisture that survives the wash: Honey is a natural humectant — it draws water in and holds it there. Argan, sweet almond and vitamin E replace what washing inevitably takes out.
- A scalp that can grow hair: Growth starts at the follicle, and follicles don’t thrive on a stripped, irritated scalp. Gentle washing is the least glamorous part of a growth routine and one of the most important.
WAYS TO WASH
The standard wash.
Two washes, 10p-sized each, scalp only, 60 seconds of massage on the second. This is your default and it’s what the formula is designed around. Two to three times a week.
For washing out the oils.
Massage shampoo directly into dry, oiled hair before adding any water — this is the single most important trick, because water blocks shampoo from binding to oil. Rinse, then wash a second time as normal. Works for all three of our oils.
For frequent washers.
If you wash every other day, a single wash is enough between deeper cleanses — there’s less to lift. Use half the product, focus on the roots, and save the double cleanse for the end of the week.

PAIR WITH
Complete your routine with carefully selected essentials designed to nourish, protect and elevate your hair every day.
The other half of the formula, and not optional. Shampoo lifts the cuticle to clean; conditioner lays it back down. Using one without the other is why hair can feel rough or tangled after washing.
Our Marie Claire award winner. Apply to the scalp before you wash, leave for 30 minutes, then double cleanse it out. Pre-wash oiling and gentle washing are the two halves of the same routine.
For the days in between. A rose-water mist that refreshes roots and revives second-day hair, so you can stretch the gap between washes rather than reaching for the shampoo again.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. Lather comes from sulphates, not from cleaning power — the two have almost nothing to do with each other. What you’re noticing is the absence of SLS, which is the whole reason this shampoo doesn’t strip your scalp or fade your colour. Do the second wash and you’ll see it foam much more readily, because the first wash has already lifted the surface layer.
For most washes, yes. The first pass lifts oil, product and pollution; the second actually cleans the scalp. It sounds like more work but it uses barely more product, because the second wash needs so little.
That’s silicone build-up from your previous shampoo lifting off, and it’s temporary. It usually clears within two to four weeks. If you’d rather skip the wait, do one clarifying wash and start fresh from there.
A 10p-sized amount per wash for short to mid-length hair, up to a 50p size for long or thick hair. Emulsify it between wet palms before it touches your head — it spreads far better and you’ll use less.
Two to three times a week for most people. Fine or oily hair can go every other day; thick, curly or coily hair usually prefers once or twice weekly. If your roots get greasy fast, washing more isn’t the fix — it tends to make it worse.
Massage the shampoo into dry, oiled hair before adding any water. Water gets between the shampoo and the oil and makes it far harder to lift. Rinse, then do a normal second wash.
Yes, and it’s a meaningful upgrade. Sulphates are one of the main reasons colour fades in the first few weeks after a service. Switching to a sulphate-free wash is the easiest way to make an expensive colour last.
Yes — sulphate-free shampoo is what’s recommended after those services, because sulphates shorten how long the treatment lasts. Follow your stylist’s guidance on when to wash for the first time.
No — please don’t. The formula contains sweet almond oil, which is derived from a nut.
Vegan-friendly, halal certified, gluten-free, paraben-free, silicone-free and cruelty-free, with no artificial fragrance or colours.
Roughly 25 to 30 washes for short to mid-length hair — around two months at three washes a week. Long or very thick hair will get through it faster.
Stop use and rinse thoroughly. As with any new product, patch test on the inner elbow 24 hours before first use if you have a sensitive or reactive scalp.
